After the very warm reception our CT barrel-aged saison received last year, we are pleased to announce not just one, but three brand new limited edition beers (releasing this Friday)! Even more exciting, all three of these new beers will be Belgian inspired, sessionable, and each unique in its own right.  Let’s take a look at what’s brewing!

First up we have our Belgian IPA. Called “Tenacious,” the Amarillo hops in this classic Belgian style give it a smooth bitterness with hints of grapefruit and clove, and a subtle, sweet finish. Standing at around 7.5%, Tenacious is the biggest and hoppiest of our beer, but reflects the Belgian brewing tradition with sweet malts and fruit overtones.

The next beer we’ve brewed up is a Belgian table beer called “Soft Spoken.” The name comes from the rather unassuming Abv, which is only 3.8%. Though that Abv is low by American standards, it’s quite common for the style: which is meant to be shared among friends at lunch or dinner. This hazy golden brew has a slight hoppy note, and pulls with a lemony flavor that develops into peach and mango undertones. The beer finishes quietly with a burst of Belgian yeast and bready malts.

Our last special release sees us returning to our smash hit saison style, this time done up with a Belgian-inspired twist! Named “Demure,” this is a slightly smoked saison that stands between the other two beers at around 6% Abv. Pouring out hazy golden orange, this is a beer that you can smell the Belgian yeast on! At first sip this beer fills your palate with a smoky tone that swells, and finishes with refined Belgian yeasting, banana, and clove. Not very hoppy, this is a balanced beer that is designed with layers of flavor to enjoy sip after sip.

We are very excited for these new styles, especially after all the love we have already gotten for our existing limited releases. These Belgian beers are available only in draft right now, so get your growlers (and your thirst) ready as we’re confident this beer will be flying out of our brewery real quick! If you can’t make it down, don’t worry – we are in the process of developing a variety 12 pack called “The Belgian Trio” that should be hitting stores in a few months.
